God,
I don't know why you placed him in my life, why he became such a huge part of my identity, and God, I know I've failed miserably at relating to him and others with your grace and forgiveness and love. I tried desperately with my own power to fix things and I broke them, heal things and I caused pain, love things and I became bitter. I became disillusioned with your power, mercy and plan. God I surrender any need for power to you. I can do nothing on my own, only with your Spirit working through me may I accomplish your works. So fill me up Holy Spirit. Fill my mouth with words of encouragement, move my feet to places you want me to go, make my hands instruments of peace, fill my heart with your love.
